Cigdem Toprak is a journalist and author born in Germany with Anatolian roots. She writes about identity, culture, migration, rap, feminism and minority policies. She has studied Political Science in Germany as well as Conflict Resolution Studies at Sabanci University in Istanbul, completed her MA Program in Conflict Resolution in Divided Societies at the Institute of Middle Eastern Studies at King´s College London and is now doctoral candidate at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität on Identity Politics in Political Theory. Her career has brought her to Istanbul for the last two years, in working as a communication manager and journalist as well as author for German media.
